Truffle Fries FAQs (tips below)
What Truffle Oil should I buy?
Check out our top- picks here!
What is the difference between black truffle oil and white truffle oil?
The main difference between these oils is the type of truffle used to make the oil. As the name suggests, black truffle oil is made with black truffles, while white truffle oil is made with white truffles. Both oils are used in cooking to add a rich, earthy flavor to dishes, but because white truffles are more rare and more expensive, white truffle oil is generally considered to be of higher quality than black truffle oil.
What is truffle flavor?
Truffle flavor is a rich, earthy flavor that is often used in savory dishes. It is made from the fungi that grows on the roots of trees and has a strong, pungent aroma. Truffles are often used as a flavoring agent in soups, sauces, and other dishes.
Is it true, a little truffle oil goes a long way?
Yes! This is because truffle oil has a very strong flavor and aroma, so a little bit can go a long way in terms of flavor. However, you should be careful not to use too much truffle oil, as it can quickly become infused. When using truffle oil, start with a small amount and then add more if needed.
How do I pick a good parmesan cheese?
When choosing a parmesan cheese, it is important to consider the age, country of origin and taste. Parmesan cheese can vary in taste from mild to sharp, depending on how long it has been aged. It is typically made in Italy, but there are also many good parmesan cheeses made in the United States. When tasting parmesan cheese, pay attention to the texture and flavor to find one that you enjoy.

Do I have to use homemade fries?
No, you don’t! You can use store-bought fries, but a homemade batch is always better.
I want to make fries from scratch. Can I prepare them beforehand?
Yes! If you want to come home and get cooking, you can cut potatoes into long strips in the morning, keep them in a bowl of cold water in the frig. Simply drain and pat the potatoes dry–then cook.
Can I use an air fryer?
100%! Follow the recipe to make potatoes into french fries, and follow the instructions below.
How do you cook french fries in an air fryer?
First, preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees F. Then, cut the potatoes into thin, even strips and toss them with your oil of choice. Next, season the potatoes with salt and pepper (or any other desired seasonings) and then place them in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 15-20 minutes, flip the fries once halfway through, or until golden brown and crispy. Cooking times may vary.
Then cover with quality parmesan cheese- let that melt. Sprinkle parsley and serve immediately.
